Land and Buildings Transaction Tax
Land and Buildings Transaction Tax (LBTT) is Scotland's version of UK's Stamp Duty Tax. This tax applies to any residential property purchase over £145,000. For second properties, it applies for purchases over £40,000. LBTT can range between 0-12% dependent on the purchase price of the property. An additional 3% is applicable to second properties.
